Western Victoria PHN issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) on Monday 11 July 2016 for the provision of primary mental health services in Western Victoria. These services replaced other primary mental health contracts, including Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) and Mental Health Services in Rural and Remote Areas (MHSRRA) that ceased on 31 October 2016. Psychological Therapy Services commenced on 1 November 2016.
Services include the provision of evidence based, short term psychological interventions for patients with a diagnosable mild to moderate mental illness, with specific services for children and also interventions for people who have attempted, or who are at risk of suicide or self-harm. These services are particularly targeted at people who experience barriers to accessing mainstream treatment options.
