About the role Geelong Ophthalmology has a position available for an experienced, conscientious, and competent casual practice manager. The role will include reception duties in addition to managing the current medical and allied health team and practice as a whole.
Duties include but are not limited to: Front desk reception duties including theatre bookings, arranging intravitreal and Botox injections, medical supply ordering, receipting patient accounts and reconciling banking Day to day management, maintenance and security of the practice Dealing with conflict situations and dispute resolution Thorough knowledge of private billing, Medicare, TAC, Workcover, DVA and Health funds Exceptional computer skills and ability to troubleshoot computer (apple) problems Preparing surgery equipment and instruments, including sterilisation, and assisting Doctor in clinic theatre when required Ongoing training and performance management of our medical and administration staff Preparing rosters for all staff and managing staff hours to achieve monthly KPI’s and Managing payroll. Liaising with medical suppliers to maintain stock and equipment Implementing new and refining older procedures to maximise productivity of the practice Public relations and marketing of the practice Have experience or be willing to learn the use of specialised ophthalmic equipment.
Other duties as required by Geelong Ophthalmology Skills and Experience Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in healthcare related field Previous experience in a practice management position within the healthcare industry Advanced computer skills Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to achieve consistently strong outcomes in a fast-paced environment Professional and enthusiastic attitude with excellent organisational and communication skills Warm, friendly and approachable personality with a positive, can-do attitude, and capacity to work cohesively within a team Knowledge of Genie and Eclipse computer systems, as well as Quick Books Accounting software will be highly regarded We are looking for an applicant with a strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure. Effective communication and flexibility to adapt and change processes is vital.
The role is currently casual (2-3 days per week) but hours may increase in the future therefore flexibility with hours/days is essential.
